Exclamation Herrow! I need help. :C

Hi my name is Harley and the reason I joined is because I need help for my baby BooBoo he's a fired belly newt.

He was attacked by a hermit crab and I believe that he is doing better although he is VERY skinny. It's been about a month since his injury and he seems to be doing better although he doesn't have much of an appetite. If anyone can take a look at his picture that has more knowledge than me and let me know what they think on his condition, i would really appreciate it.
Thank you!

Gah, that looks pretty awful! Mixing species sometimes ends in disasters like this. I hope you've rectified the living arrangements.

If the newt is still aquatic I would keep it so. Sick newts recover best when kept isolated in clean, stress free and cool housing. A bare bottomed aquatic tank or container, regular water changes with de-chlorinated water, suitable hides where the newt can feel secure and plenty of regular meals. What are you offering it at present? Ideally, bite sized pieces of earthworm should be offered daily until the newt is a healthy weight.

In it's current condition I wouldn't expect it to last long. If it's feeding regularly then perhaps there's hope for a full recovery.

I moved this to the Newt Help section. Are the photos recent, or were they taken immediately after the injury? Keep him clean and try some tempting foods to get him eating. You could consider using Neosporin ointment (w/o painkiller!), but if it's already been a month, this may be pointless by now, as the skin should have healed over.
