I think you will have to find a vet to examine it. Is it feeding? If so, make sure it has a few good meals (earthworms would be ideal) before going to the vet in case it doesn't feed for a while from stress. C

Well actually, I started feeding him earthworms for the past couple of days (its not his first time though). Could that have caused the problem? Also, he had a cloudy eye a few months ago but the went away naturally... And I don't know of any vets who specialize in newts in my area. I hope it's not that bad.

I very much doubt the worms have anything to do with it. How long have you had the newt? It is most likley an infection of some sort (tumours are very rare in newts); can you find a vet who you could call, if not visit, as they may be able to prescribe antibiotics (typically Enrofloxacin (Baytril)) over the phone? It may go away on it's own, particularly with good feeding and hygeine, but there is a chance that the newt could lose the eye or develop sepsis or something. C
