Default Newt eggs?

Hello!

there is some sort of stringy/globby/i-don't-know-what stuff on one of my live plants, and a little more on one of my fake rock hideouts in my paddle tail newt's tank! i know she's a female, but i don't have a male in there... i just got her a couple weeks ago. could it be unfertilized eggs? or is there something wrong with my plant? i tried to take pictures of it, but its really hard to see /:

thanks!
