Do I just do a big water change??

Also, what would be the attraction to the tank?

Hi Jess what are you keeping or intending to keep in there? This type of larva filter feeds and is not predatory. It looks well grown already which makes me wonder what itís geeding on and where your tank is? Is it uncovered with direct sunlight? See it as free live food.

Hi Jess. Mozzies are drawn to still water to lay their eggs, so if you don't have any axolotls in the tank yet, filtering, or even just an airstone to keep the water moving, will stop them coming. But honestly, they aren't anything to worry about. If anything, they are a bonus to amphibian keepers. I leave buckets of water out specifically to encourage the mozzies to lay, as the larvae are such a great food source for young newts and axolotls, tadpoles, and fish. Even the bigger ones will eat them.
