Mine are new so they're still learning their way around (and I've changed the tank a time or two as well.)

But so far, Pedro has taken a liking to sitting on top of the tunnel I got them (usually when juliet is inside it!) And i've also caught him sitting slanted on top of her. But not the usual "directly on top cutsey thing" but just his back half on her. ie Bum on head, his front paws on the ground, facing the same direction.

They've both taken to sitting with their head just out of the bubbles from the bubble bar, and I've found both on occassion with their heads (separately) right in the rising bubbles coming out. I'm guessing its them being lazy because they won't even have to fan their gills?
Pedro also seems to like to sit directly underneath the ice packs when they're on the top of the water (ice packs in a plastic bag) so he can "cool off"

Got photos of some of this and will get them up later in the week Click the image to open in full size.

What have you seen?

I've got one of those hollow aquarium "bells". Java likes to grip onto the roughish surface near the top with her left "hand" and "foot" and her right "hand" and "foot" stretched out... and just float. She isn't bloated or anything.. so I guess that's just what she likes doing Click the image to open in full size.

yeah pedro does that as well - had just one foot on the tunnel and the other 3 outstretched like a skydiver. Just sat there for a while. Think I got a pic as well.

I love the way they do that. Tend to glide down with all arms/legs outstretched, skydiver style?

when Creature eats he hops then he lets the worm go and sucks the worm back in and hops its really funny after about 5 min. or so he finally eats the worm or lets it go for another time to torture it

My 2 big axies 'ride' the bubbles from the air stone up to the surface, glide around on the current until they hit the downward flow out of the filter and are driven into the plant underneath (had to replace the live plants I had with a plastic one - they kept killing them) They then float out of the plant slowly, swim across the back of the tank and do it AGAIN and AGAIN . . .

Another of their tricks is to lay in the plant as though they are having a 'spa' and let the branches tickle their bellies as the water flow wiggles the branches around.

My 2 baby axies wiggle right into the middle of their plants and then stand upright on their tails, with their heads poking out like they are pretending to be part of the plant! Maybe this is some sort of defense mechanism? Sure is cute though Click the image to open in full size.

mine like to dive bomb each other when they go up for air and my "staxies" love to sit on top of each other, big tank with lots of space and you've got 6 axies in a corner sitting on each other with no respect for any one else. Ms. Muddie often likes to paw at things, or she'll get through half the movement of walking somewhere and just stop leaving one foot in the air. They've got so much personality.

pedro has worked himself into a corner that I thought was axie proof. between the tank, the filter and the driftwood. I swear he's just being lazy. His head is poking up occassionally keeping an eye on things. should have photos of this sorted tomorrow...

Mine squeezes itself flat up against the side of the tank so you can see it's belly - even though it doesn't need to and there is plenty of room ! :-)
