Hello everyone,
I've been planning to get an axolotl for a while now but I haven't had time to pick up an aquarium. This week though I'll have some spare time to get me an aquarium. I was wondering what were some good starter tips to making an aquarium and taking care of an axolotl? I've read up on both a bit but don't know everything about them yet. e.g. I know you have to let the water sit for 2-3 weeks, you can't have a filter with a too strong current etc etc.
Thanks in advance for the help.

It's great to see you're doing your research! So many people come on here after getting their little friend, and have no idea how to take care of it.

Have you read through Axolotls: The Fascinating Mexican Axolotl and the Tiger Salamander yet? That's where we keep most of the basic info. Beyond that, have a look at other people's setups, and have a read through the forum. There are thousands and thousands of posts about axolotls (and generally what not to do!).

Haha yeah, it's the first thing I did, wouldn't want to hurt the little thing!
And yes I've read through most of that site, it was very helpful!
I'll take a look at people's setups and see how their aquariums are, thanks a lot!
