Default Incase anyone needed proof that it's bad to keep Axies on gravel...

I have had Darwin a week and a half and so far this lot has come out of him (the petshop kept him on blue gravel!) He has passed another one since taking this picture yesterday! I'm thinking of having them made into a necklace!

Also, anyone got any ideas on whether he's a boy/girl? I would like to get one to keep him company at some point, and I don't want babies!!

I may be wrong here.. but he kinda looks like a tiger salamander larve. Im not 100% because Im not very experienced but Ive seen a few people on here who buy "axolotls" from a petstore and they end up being tiger salamanders.

She looks like a very pretty little wild type axolotl to me. It is rather unlikely that they would sell a tiger larvae as an axolotl here.

I'd say it's an axolotl. I'm raising tiger larva now and I've never seen them with this intricate patterning.

I would say you have a girl and she is an Axolotl. Depending on the age though you may get a surprise. Many people on here have been sure they had a girl only to find out it was a boy. Only time will tell.

Looks like a beautiful little girl to me, though I've heard that stress can delay the onset of sexual maturation so it's always possible that you'll be in for a surprise down the road. She's SO lucky to have found such a caring home!

You could always go with Emma - that was Darwin's wife's name. :)
