So I've had my little "Kreacher" for a month now and have had great success with him. The tank stays cool with the help of a desk fan and I've been able to keep it nice and clean and tidy for him and he is growing like a weed and his little foot (had been bitten off by another one) has grown back toes and is soon going to be normal size again. I am interested in obtaining another Axolotl. We have a large juvenile green spotted (i think Female) at my store and I've fallen in love with her taking care of her... A friend of mine thinks she has a 20L tank she is willing to give to me and I'm curious how one goes about introducing a new Axolotl to an existing one. They were purchased at the same time by my boss from a breeder at the last New England reptile expo (May 19th I think) but the female seems to be larger than my guy. I believe it was this female who had originally nipped off Kreacher's leg so I'm worried about putting them together, even in a larger tank. Any thoughts or ideas? I'm happy to keep the tank divided but I want them to eventually get along and coexist. Is this a realistic possibility? Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated. ![]() ![]() Kreacher saying Hi! |

Hi, I would of thought that a 1 inch size difference would be ok but any more than that and you could be in trouble with the new larger one thinking your little one was food. i am only a novice my self but as no one has replied yet i thought i would. |

Thanks for the reply. The axolotl I've become fond of was purchased by a customer yesterday so I have no need for advice on this any more. Thanks anyways tho.
