I have a friend who got an axolotl at 3 inches and a month later, that axolotl was 5-6 inches. All she fed him was bloodworms once a day. What is the best food to feed and ideal schedule for a getting an axolotl to grow the fastest? I'm pretty much thinking that feeding the axolotl every time it is willing to eat every few hours would do it, but is that healthy? |

From what I understand, keeping the water just a little warm (about 68-70F) will increase growth rate. A really good website for axolotl's is Axolotls: The Fascinating Mexican Axolotl and the Tiger Salamander |

Axolotls are naturally fast growers if kept in proper conditions. When axolotls are younger i feed them bloodworms once a day until they are big enough for worms. Once they're big enough for worms I feed them every other day.

Every other day? I feed babies altleast twice, usually three times a day and anything 4 inches or more once a day sometimes twice. I can see the high temp working. I think she had said that she had the water temperature being high anyway. |
