They both look female, but at their size they may be too small to tell still.

the caudata culture as a segement of how to sex axolotls and other caudates, and they do look like females.

right now they both look like female but they also dont look mature yet the white one may turn out to be male. how old is ur axolotl

Hi.Thank you for reply.I am not sure how old, but Gold one is about 5 inches long, Wild type is a bit bigger and fat lol :-) These guys are still babies...I know it's too early, but asked because I was sooo soo curious and experienced people have better eye to this as well. :-D |

They both look like females at the moment... but I'd definitely wait a little longer. I can't tell if their toes have changed color yet but it doesn't really look like it. When my male's toes changed, he still looked like a female. It wasn't until a month after that it became REALLY obvious that she was a he.

usually when they are about a year and a half and are about 7-9inches is when it become forsure to tell

another thing is there heads females will have a shorter and wider hhead and the males will have a thinner and longer head

Thank you guys :-) Ends of toes of Golden one are dark since I bought him/her and head seems to be longer and thinner comparing to my Wild type Axolotl and these are different weights (My Gold is really skinny) Thank you all for good advice and I will keep eye on my little guys :-D |

Females also tend to be fatter since they're constantly full of eggs!
