Ammonia should be the first thing you test for, is your tank new or cycled? Do you have a filter?

Hi. I do not have a filter I change the water every week... So the test... Nitrite: 1; Nitrate: 50; pH: 7,2 no chlorine but quite hard water GH 21... I couldn't find tests for ammonia... And now I start to worry... My male have a pinkish tail... Well pinkier than his body... He is leucistic... And doesn't look happy, is a fussy eater, puke sometimes and now I start to wonder is this caused by ammonia.

Any advice?

The pinkness could be something as simple as activity and bloodflow or possibly ammonia burn.

Th first pic looks fine, but the male doesn't look quite so normal so perhaps an expert opinion would be great.

wouldnt it just be easier to test your levels?? I mean, this way you wouldnt be freaking about ammonia or other toxins, because you would know what levels they were at!

get an ammonia test and your nitrate readings are way too high, get a water change done and check links on tank cycling.
