I would post a picture. Axolotl's toes darken with sexual maturity, but if you think it's something else a picture would help

This could just be a sign of sexual maturity. Take a look at the bottom of this link. Axolotls - Biology

It would be sexual maturity, my axolotl had the exact same thing nothing to be concerned about

Rule no.1 in giving veterinary advice: Never say it's not concerning until you see the patient for yourself. As my Dr. always says "When you assume, it makes an *** out of U and ME" and possibly gets the hospital sued now a days.
