Freckles?

Question Freckles?
Can axolotls get freckles?
I'm positive Banana did not have this spot on him the other day when I fed him last.

And before anybody says it, the rocks are all bigger than his head. Yes, they are a pain to clean - I'm thinking of getting sand to fill in the gaps.


Should I be concerned?

Should have circled it. Yes, it is the red spot.
I don't think so, carefully I just touched his side, but it seems to be part of his skin. O.o

strange heh! know with my golden albino you can see quite easily if he hurts himself due to the light skin but if its under and its not been caught who knows, maybe an axie beauty spot

Just looked at your pictures, they don't look quite the same. It looks just like a freckle - but I will be keeping a super close eye on this.

No worries. Axles head one is really different but he has two others on him that are the same as yours. I see you are in Australia.... did you have those massive heat waves too??

Yes, we had a huge heat wave. Axies were put in the fridge - I couldn't keep the tank below 30 degrees!
Heaters in the fish aquariums took a holiday. :P

you're not wrong there, I was in sydney last saturday for a funeral, I was out at leppington and the heat and humidity was brutal, nothing like perth heat, our heat is a dry one so it is not as uncomfortable.

I went down to wollongong on sunday and it was soo much cooler there.

in the dry heat, it seems easier to cool my tank with a fan, with the aircon on and a fan blowing on the surface, I can get it down to about 18-19 degrees, it must cool better due to the lack of moisture in the air.
