Hey guys, So my cats have been visiting my axolotl, supervised of course. He does have a glass cover but I take it off to feed him. That is when my cats come up to investigate. Well they left some of their fur in his water. Not a huge amount so I did not think anything of it. Well my axolotl was swimming around trying to defecate but seemed to be having some issues. Finally when he did, he still had something sticking out of his butt. It looks like balled up cat fur that is stuck. I do not know whether to just wait and see if the next time he excretes it finally passes or if I take a pipette or tweezers and pull it out. I know for cats if a string is hanging out, you do not pull it out because it could be wrapped around something, but I do not know what the protocol for an axolotl is. Please help! - Crater |

That is funny......Axie has cat fur .........I dont know the right answer but I dont think I could handle seeing it stucking out(gee that would be uncomfortable) I thInk I would have to help. I would use tweezers and very gently try and pull it out, if it came out easily job done but if it needed pressure then I think I would leave it and get advice from a vet.......... Again I dont know if this is the right answer or not sorry |
