Hi, I posted a while ago about my axolotl called Ernie who has what appears to be a fungal infection on his gills: ![]() Can anyone confirm this? I would love any advice you can offer as Ernie was my first axolotl! He is in a tank on his own but I also have 2 other adults axies in a different tank and they don't have an infection. Is there anyway they would be able to catch it? I don't want them to get ill too ![]() I am going to the pet shop tomorrow to get some salt so I can start salt baths, is it recommended to put him in the fridge too? Is this salt ok for salt baths? Aquarium Salt 453g by API | Pets at Home Thank you! - His tail is all curled from the stress as well I think ![]() I forgot to ask, I'm going to thoroughly clean his tank when he's in the fridge, what's the best way to clean everything is there a product I can use? From other threads any salt with NO additives. I used just organic sea salt. 6gm/L. Fungus went away in about a week then additional 3 days of baths to be safe. The aquarium salt costs extra just for the label

Yes looks like a real fungus infection. You should start the salt baths today.

Thank you, I'm going to start the salt baths tomorrow first thing. I even have a mini fridge ready to put him in so no one disturbs him. He's still acting relatively normal and I managed to get him to eat something so hopefully these salt baths will sort him out!
