have you checked the filter isnt clogged up with debris?

rinse your filter media as per maintence instructions, and continue water changes...

also, does it look like algae or is it dirty (does it wiggle?)

The dark water could be caused by any number of things. First off, what all is in the tank? What animals, what plants, what decorations, any driftwood? What are your water parameters? If you have plants, they could be falling apart in the water. If driftwood is in there, it's probably tanins from the wood.

Try doing more water changes. That will probably help somewhat.

What kind of food do you feed them? How do you remove leftover food?

How long has the tank been setup? Seems like I read a post of yours recently about getting a new tank. What are the water parameters? Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, temperature, PH?

decomposed shrimp and probably munched worm are my best guess...

is it gettin worse? or better with water changes ?

i would maybe suggest doing slightly more frequent water changes...
