Default Bored with my set up....

Ok....I am hitting a spot where I am really bored with my tank set up. It was pre-drilled for a sump but I have those blocked off. This means I have a section in the middle that is blocked off for where it would go.

I have just a basic set up.....black sand, blue back ground, drift wood, silk plants, caves, ceramic pot hides, air disk to one corner and floating live plants.

but the arrangement just looks so boring to me.

Any suggestions on what I can do to spruce it up?
Here it is now...

These are pictures of tanks over the years (not specifically axies) and these are extra decor I have to play around with. I also have some extra white and blue sand I can use too. I also have a bunch of rocks (shades of white, black, red that are about 1.5-2" in diameter).

Whoa your tank looks so cool! Way better than mine. It's only two foot and I have no room to put things in it and have room for my axies. Maybe try googling some photos of other aquariums to get some ideas?

As I'm new to aquariums in general, I've found a lot of inspiration/ideas for our soon-to-be-planted 40 gallon breeder on youtube. Some people get pretty complicated with aquascaping/decorating, but there are a lot of really nice simple ideas out there.

That being said, I love your setup as is.

Thanks guys....I just felt like it was kind of thrown together and crowded. I started by removing the big half log cave at the left and rearranging the ceramic pots and the driftwood. I added the rock structure in then stopped as my axies were sulking about the changes.

I will check out a few stores tomorrow in search of a new back ground that will fit my tank....

here's my 5 babies sulking in one corner....pretty much saying "OK mom, Enough Already!!!" (Fluff to the left, Spyro on top of the structure, Yoshi in the structure, Black Magic to the right facing the camera and Puff in the back right)
