Is this a melanoid ?

Default Is this a melanoid ?

I believe this is a melanoid axolotl, but someone has cast some doubt!! I realise the other is a wild type.

How about a wild type with very little markings or a melanoid with more pattern than normal. I know we think of either or but my guess is this one is a little in between wild type and melanoid.

The first pic is a melanoid. It lacks the 'shiny ring' around the eye. Looks just like my guy.
