Well my axie babies have been back home with me about 3 weeks now and aside from the general trauma of cycling the tank and the fact that some of them are grossly overweight after spending 3 years with my dad, they've settled in very well. I can't believe I have 4 generations of axies! First the oldies. They're about 8 or 9 now :) This is Advocaat. Anyone who can shed light on why one of her gills is dark and bald, let me know: ![]() Bailey: ![]() And Lou: ![]() Advocaat and Lou's baby, Jackie. Here she is standing on her daughter, Lola's head. Jackie's about 6 and Lola's 4: ![]() Tripod is Lola's sister (named because she only ever grew 3 legs): ![]() And here's Timmy. He was named after a South Park character because he has a deformed leg that points to the sky for some reason lol. He's about 2: ![]() And my lovely Lucie. She has a skin disorder that no-one really knows what it is. She's always had it and it doesn't bother her. We just call her unique ![]() ![]() Unfortunately, a fifth generation of axies is not planned unless there suddenly becomes a huge demand for them because frankly, I can't keep any more of the ones I breed haha. So the girls and the guys are living separately until further notice. Feel free to place orders though, I'll see what I can do ^_^ |

Haha yeah, she's a strange one! It was obvious from the beginning she didn't have the best genes in the world and she's related to everyone except Lou and Bailey. I'm not one for culling so I wasn't expecting the offspring to be perfect. But they're perfect to me. I don't care what they look like as long as they're healthy :)

They are all beautiful, what a gorgeous brood you have. You must be so proud Advocaat is an amazing looking beastie, a true matriach! Your leucistic's are beauties, is it just me or are they always podgier looking than their darker equivalents?! And their names are fab, especially Timmy and Tripod! Bless her, I bet she doesn't even notice the lack of the leg does she? x

She doesn't know what it is to have two back legs so she just gets on with it, much like Timmy walking on his knee lol. I'm not sure how I've done it, but the majority of them are over 30cm. Jackie looks like the largest but I'll have to get a tape measure on them again!

As far as I know, the dark stuff in the gills are just blood vessels or something. Nothing to worry about. I've had leucistics with and without the blue-ishness. I also love how 'old' axies look like. With little bumps and cracks and just cute :) The skin thing also looks pretty odd, but it's also a cool looking axie
