Default Free to good home (raleigh,nc)

I have a male P.labiatus that I've had since last september. I always seem to have some issue with him despite proper husbandry (good water parameters, weekly partial water changes, sand for substrate, a good filter, many hides, etc) and I feed him chopped up earthworms. I feel like I'm doing everything i can for him, but he'll go through periods where he won't eat (right now its been about 2 weeks) or he'll start acting weird then suddenly he'll be fine. Sometimes it has to do with him being in breeding condition, other times I can't seem to figure out what it is.

I feel like he would be better off with someone who might be more knowledgeable about newts, or even particularly his species. I would love to give him to a good home, but it has to be in the raleigh,nc area. I would also sell his set-up (10 gallon tank, zoo-med filter, hood light, screen lid, plants, pots, and hide) for $50.

I am going back to Florida in early may, so I will also be willing to deliver him between Gainesville and Tampa, or anywhere close if you can meet me (:

I have never shipped before, but if you can tell me exactly how to package him and are willing to pay for overnight shipping, then I will consider it. I'm worried about the temperature getting too hot. I would be so sad if something happened to him ):

Totally understandable! Shipping overnight is pretty simple, but it has been starting to warm up lately. I also live in Texas, so I'll check on the weather to see if shipping him won't get too dangerous.

Thanks! I looked at the Caudata culture article on shipping and it sounds pretty simple as long as we can assure the temperature is adequate.
