I still have 3-inch juveniles for sale. Some of the next batch in line are now at 3 inches as well. And as usual, there are several even younger batches growing out.

I have a batch of mixed color juveniles that I'll start shipping out after the 1st of the year. I'm taking orders now to reserve specific colors.

These guys are approximately 2 inches long at the moment and are eating only live blackworms.

leucistic $10 each
golden albino $15 each
white albino $8 each
wild type $8 each
melanoid $30 each (limited quantity)

Shipping is $15 for up to 6 axolotls (via Post Office Priority Mail, which usually takes 2-3 days). Live arrival guarantee if you provide picture proof of DOA within 2 hours of delivery.

Payment is via Paypal.

I'm still not having much luck getting good photos of melanoids (due to how dark they are I suppose) but here's a picture at least showing the different body colors of the juveniles.

I don't know how to answer that question. My melanoids usually look fully black from the top, at least if they're on a black substrate. My adults especially are inky black.

If I move them to a light-colored substrate, their color lightens up a LOT.

Also, whenever I take a picture, the flash washes their color out and if I try to take a picture without a flash, it turns out lousy.

The one in the picture I posted looks jet black under normal room lighting when in that black basket, but in the picture he looks kind of grayish.

I've tried pictures from the side as well and they don't turn out well either.

I may sell them all locally, because when people come and see them in person, they usually like the way they look and know what they're getting.

Still have all 5 colors available, down to about 80 total. They're approximately 2.75 inches now, eating like pigs on live blackworms.

leucistic $10 each
golden albino $15 each
white albino $8 each
wild type $8 each
melanoid $30 each

Shipping is $15 for up to 6 axolotls (via Post Office Priority Mail, which usually takes 2-3 days). Live arrival guarantee if you provide picture proof of DOA within 2 hours of delivery.

Hey Margie, just wanted to let you know that my axolotl is doing wonderful and growing!
My husband and I for sure plan to eventually adopt another axolotl from you in the near future.
One question I have is regarding age. Just wondering approximately hold old my little axolotl is.

Yours was approximately 2 months old. My juveniles grow about 1.5" per month for the first 3 months after hatching. I'm told that's not typical, but It's what I see over and over in the hundreds I've raised. Probably has something to do with the large system I raise them in.

I'm so pleased to hear he/she is doing so well!

I ordered some beautiful lotls from Margie back in November. All of them are thriving and growing fast! I just ordered a melanoid tonight and I can't wait for him/her to get here!

Maybe if you're willing to share your secrets, Margie, you'll put up some pictures of the awesome system that you raise these guys in? I know I'd love to see it. If I recall correctly, don't you have something outside set up or is that just for your fish?

My outside aquatics are all pond fish because it gets too cold here in the winter for axolotls. But I do keep my axos in a pond - in my basement. My whole basement is fish and other aquatic creatures. About half is my business - the other half is my hobby. It's pretty hard to tell the difference sometimes!

My axolotl pond is 13.5 feet long, so it's hard to get a good picture of it. And I usually don't try because it's not pretty. I built it about 17 years ago to raise koi and I just wanted it to be practical, not pretty. I re-configured it a bit to make it work even better for axolotls. Here's a picture before the remodel and another my BF took while I was working on converting it. I don't have any pictures of it afterwards, but obviously the pond itself didn't change, just the layout (and I modified the filtration a bit).

Only a few goldens left. (I have babies growing out in that color as well)
