Could anyone help id these amphibians seen in the Pantanal, Brazil in April 2008?
1) this toad - it looks like Marine Toad but could it possibly be Rococo Toad? side view and top view
2) this frog - it was a very small frog

Thanks,

The links are no good because they're not set for public viewing.

Identifying Rhinella of the R.marina group is problematic, especially in Brazil. The names don't match up well with genetic evidence of species, and the named species often overlap in range:

The toad would be Rhinella schneideri, based solely on currently accepted distribution. I doubt a physical identification would be all that reliable at the moment anyway.

The frog is either a Dendropsophus or a Scinax, to my eye. I think Scinax is more likely, but I am unwilling to decide on any particular species. Multiple undescribed or undetermined Scinax occur in the Pantanal. These only refer to species found in particular parts of the Pantanal (other species occur in different parts):

Scinax I have found reference to include:
S.nasicus
S.elianeae
S.cf.fuscovarius
S.fuscovarius
S.cf.fuscomarginatus
S.acuminatus acuminatus
S.sp.
S.cf.egleri
Some of these may be duplicates, and others were likely missed.
