I've had my toad (female) since March of this year. Two days ago we added a new one and ever since our old one keeps hunting down the new one and jumping on its back and SQUEEZING it until I seperate them. The new starts chirping and jumps away really quickly as soon as its free. I know the old one is female since a few days after we brout her home she laid eggs, so I wouldn't think she was trying to mate. Is she just trying to show her dominance????? |

you're positive the new one is the one on the bottom? i wouldn't think the old female would be the one mounting and it would make more sense if the new one is male and is trying to mate with your old female. other than that i dont know, i have three toads for about two weeks and just discovered that they are all males because they all sing and they all perform amplexus on each other. |
