Default Unexpected Xenopus tadpole

I put a pair together 4 weeks ago to spawn, and they ended up laying a few hundred eggs. I though all of them got fungus and died. I really didn't pay much attention to the tank for a while, but left the filter running and the eggs slowly began to shrivel. Today I finally drained the water from the tank to scrub it, and found a 3/4" long tadpole! It was so weird, I could have sworn all of the eggs went bad!

Hello,
this could be an example for the so called crowd effect.

Although I want to say that ACF tadpoles (my own experience is based on the breeding of Silurana) IMO don't need "clean" or "clear" water.

Bye Martin
