Default Wu Man Pipa

Lots of times I did a search on Pipa parva or Pipa pipa and Chinese pipa came up. For valentines day we are going to see Wu Man play the pipa. I'm pretty sure this is not off topic because you are supposed to talk about pipa here.

Well, I hope she plays songs about frogs.
Ironically, Wu Man is a WoMan.
She is great!

Maybe it was my imagination. When Wu Man struck the strut or wood on the pipa it sounded a little like some Pipidae calling. We sat in the front row about 15 feet away from the soloist.

When Pipa pipa call they sound a little like somebody banging on the pipes. When Pipa parva call they sound a little like the ratchet of a socket wrench. When Xenopus laevis call they sound a little like the buzz of an electric light.
