Hi, nice to see photos of your goldens, they are looking good. I have recently joined Newport freecycle , you can pick up free aquariums etc off there, try the Bristol one , you may find you can get a free temp tank for yours till they are big enough to go in with Kitty. I have decided to covert my shed into a breeding area for my axolotls, going to insulate it and put a heater/ac unit in to keep the temp at an acceptable level for them, summer causes me endless work at maintaining correct conditions. Cant wait, weathers still good so i will be doing the donkey work over my xmass break, all part of my plan for breeding the A.andersoni in a years time.

I studied at Chester College (now Chester University), the awarding body was Liverpool University . I didnt do any animal experiments myself, i just studied existing ones. All my research was done on fellow students who were both cheap and expendable !! no license required to mess about with those guys lol.

Yes , some people take offence too easily and bicker over badly worded threads or differences of opinion lol, chickens are hilarious! stupid sods! they are fun to watch. I only studied joint honours because i messed up my A levels and couldnt do straight Eng Lit,a lucky bonus really as psychology was the most interesting subject i have ever studied, apart from some of the stupid ,cruel *** animal experiments some of those deranged pschologists pulled, i sometimes felt like tracking those guys down and giving them a well deserved slap!

Four degrees is just showing off lol, i will stick with my joint honours Eng Lit./Psychology, my liver couldnt stand any more education. Its often advisable to keep partners away from your hobbies as they like to take over, if you can train her to throw the odd worm in the tank from a safe distance you will be sitting pretty!

"fish phobia" lol, at least you wont have to worry about her overfeeding them (a problem in my house), you can also use her phobia to your advantage, if you need to hide anything, such as anything totaly out of order to things mundane like pressies you can hide them by your tanks, it would be like having a fishy safe lol. M.Phil, philosophy ?, if so cool subject, i worked with a philosophy phd once who was on a sabbatical and wanted to experience life with the working class(rofl- turned up to work at BQ in a brand new merc) he was so full of **** , i though he was great , kept me in stitches!!

The "discussion" with my wife abouyt the cost would have been amusing to a casual observer lol, i told her i was getting four, she suggested that four would get me castrated, we settled on two as a comprimise, i will now try to sneak in three! game, set and match to me!! No succes is ever permanant and i expect a certain amount of fallout but wtf im used to being in the doghouse! Are you off to do your phd?

You will be suprised how fast they grow, they can grow upto an inch a month though that is probally the max growth rate! The A.andersoni arnt that hard to breed apparantly, its just that they were only discovered about twenty years ago, they are obtainable in the US thanks to breeders like Michael Shrom, in Europe however i think there might only be two breeders in Germany, i did contact them about selling me eggs when theirs next bred but had no joy, the ones im getting are from a German amphibian show which were impotred and grown on, im looking to start my own breeding program before these guys get CITES listed and become unobtainable here in the UK.

I was feeding them twice a day, you may find that a regular food supply might reduce their "aggression", i think a lot of the biting is reflex rather than a deliberate attempt to eat each other.
