Ta ed, I havent cleaned the outside ones other than to wipe algae of the sides, the house tubs get 80%-100% water changes and a wipe down. My post was more about the possibility of chemicals polluting the wtaer from the plastic, pcbs are one of the potentially harmfull ones

Thanks ed, it is a bit smaller than the average size in the tank, it has avoided predation by its siblings by the skin of its teeth lol, definetly planning on keeping it. I was amazed to see it last night as I have never observed it before, the tank has loads of plants so must have spent all its time stuck in them out of sight.
