    Hi,

Is it true that cynops orientalis can live in any amount of water? Say, roughly 3 gallons?

Because I have a 37 litre tank (9.7 gallons), but I have a divider in there so, would it be enough water?

    Thanks a million

Hi there. I've been MIA. The boys have kept me hopping. I've also been depressed due to a tragedy I caused. We had this freakish cold spell and needed to put on the heat very low. I guess it dried out my smallest tank and I lost my first four, incl. Newty, juveniles. The other tanks, being larger, weren't affected, but as you can imagine, I'm mortified. I switched four others from another tank into the small tank so the kids wouldn't notice, but I'm sick over it. Newty had a beautiful red stripe down his back and I was able to get another one just like him in there...but I get a sick feeling every time the boys talk to him as if it's him...

I've checked in a few times to peek at the forum, but couldn't bring myself to post. I should, so others would be more aware of this potential problem.

Hope all is well w/ you guys. Any eggs? I found my adult female in the male's tank last night...she climbed over the tank divider. I hope I'm not in for another year of this!

Hi Kelly. I have only about 3 left to morph and close to 60 juveniles. I've lost only one. Do you have any idea on the laws about shipping them? I have interest from people in the US, Mexico, and Ireland! I'm not sure when I'll feel they're ready to leave, but they seem to be doing well. I don't ever see them eat, but am replacing the fruit flies and springtails constantly. It's getting tough to keep up. I need to find pinhead crickets.

Are you going to breed the beardies? I suppose the gender of the offspring is influenced by temperature like w/ most reptiles?

Not much here is new. I'm just busy with school and newts. I can believe they are already 14 inches long. Are you going to breed your beardies?

Dear Critter Mom, I would like to be your friend. I no longer have any "caudatas" dur to Sam the salamander's death, but I'm still interested in them, and, perhaps I will want another one in time.I will follow the site so I can learn more about what type of caudata would make a suitable "pet."
I appreciated your message of sympathy. It helped me feel better. Thank you, Genie/buzby35

No, they require special licences and even so, they are extremely rare here.

    Biography
I have three Chinese fire bellied newts, three hermit crabs, two bearded dragons, one sugar glider, snails, and "Sea Monkeys". I really enjoy hanging out with my husband and our critter "kids". I used to have green anoles as pets from kindergarten all the way up until after high school. I had one live to be five years old! They mated and layed eggs, though I never had any luck with them hatching. The female always dug them back up and ate them, lol.

I also used to have dogs and cats, freshwater fish, and some insects as pets.
    Interests
Way too many to list here! Ask me.
