Yeah, I know what you mean, with the shipping and everything (the FBN). Naughty, naughty: you have 2 wild caught lizards as pets from your back yard... just kidding!

Oh, just to let you know, my little FBN, Fiaro, who was struggling with the head wound and then looked like he would make it.... just passed away about 50 minutes ago. I don't know why. I fed the FBN's about 2or 3 hours before and he ate a blood worm (not quite the appetite he had a couple days before) but he looked ok. Then he started wanting out and getting all cuddly alternating with wildly running around, and getting skinnier and caved in looking by the moment. My fiance' played "The Soft Goodbye" by Celtic Woman and other songs while he passed away. Fiaro was cuddling and looking at me. I also handed him off to my fiance'. So we had a funeral. We can bury him tomorrow. It was so hard because I could see him struggling, and I knew he didn't want to go. I know it was hard on him and us to watch.

I know that people don't really like pet stores and the idea of getting wild caught animals, but I got the Chinese Firebelly Newts before I had come here and known about the differences, and that captive bred ones were even available. I got them special ordered at Pet Supplies Plus. They are the only ones in town who carry them as far as I know. I really checked around too. I noticed that the stores that used to carry them don't now because they didn't sell well, including where the original one came from that my friend bought a year before she gave her to me. The Pet Supplies Plus must be doing ok with the firebellies though now, because the ones they had when I came back in February were different ones than they had last summer. They did say they had them for a while though.

The hermit crabs I got from Pet Smart, and the sugar glider I got from a private owner. So that's how we got started last year. :)

    Where did you get yours?

You're welcome. I know what it's like to get attached. Thanks. I really love the little guys.

Oh, you mean the sugar glider? He's kinda like a flying squirrel but much cuter. If you go to Yahoo Images or Google Images, you can find one by looking up "sugar glider". Also if you go to You Tube and type in "Sugar Glider Noises" it shows you something kinda fun. One of my favorite sites is http://www.suzsugargliders.com

Awe...sorry about the white's tree frog. He was a beauty!

Yeah, I have 4 firebelly newts. I have them out to watch us on the computer, and they are all pressed up against their little carry container. It's so cute!

I have a hermit crab crawling up and down me right now as I type this. I have 2 more in the crabarium.

I also have a sleeping sugar glider.

It gets busy at night when all the critters wake up and need tending to! hehe
