as you can tell, my Question is: what is the newt with the most personality? because i going to get a newt, but i want the species with most personality

Although very common, C.orientalis have loads of personality and are relatively hardy. Some Ambystoma species like Tigers and Axolotls also are very personable. All of the ones I listed tend to beg for food after a while. I hope that helps!:D

Pleurodeles waltl are also great.

T.dobrogicus are veary energetic

Not to burst any bubbles here... but it seems like many keepers are anthropomorphising and inserting their favorite species. I don't think there is a device to measure the "feistiest" newt. I am guilty for attributing human characteristics to my animals as well. However, when all is said and done, they are still newts/salamanders and their characteristics are representative of any other out there.

For feistiest, I would say paddletails. They are so feisty they maul each other! For "personality" I would vote for Pleurodeles waltl or Taricha granulosa. Travis is right, though - newts don't truly possess these characteristics, it's just our perception of their behaviors. The ones that become tame and learn to beg for food are the ones we tend to think of as having personality.

agree each species and individual has there own personality just look for the one whom seems healthy and happy

thanks, i think i'll get 3 T. gran.s and 3 notos, T.gran.s for personality and notos just because i like them.

That is for two tanks?

You shoudn't mix species.

Especially these two species; the T. grans would start amplexing the poor little Notos and stress them no end, they are so much bigger....yikes!

yeah, i did mean in two different tanks, though my parents may not let me get the T.gran.s:( oh and would they work in a woodland terrarium?

No. T. Grans are the most aquatic of their genus. I would give them at least 5 inches of water, but more would be better. Two can be housed in a 10 gallon tank.

If you get juvenile T. grans, they would be fine in a woodland terrarium. There have been some CB juv T. granulosa posted in the for-sale section not long ago.
