Alpine newt rodeo in my shed this morning. I was expecting 50 or so but i found 114 with a few more waiting to morph. Bit smaller than i would have liked but i poisoned my daphnia tanks by overfeeding and wiped them out. Fortunately the mozzy population boomed, so they had plenty of food but its clearly not as good as daphnia. Im keeping most of these guys for a couple of years and provide adult breeding groups.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
