Finally I got to pick up my two new friends today! I was so super excited, I've been waiting on them for over 3 months (spoke to the breeder when he -just- found eggs ) )

They are two little leucist juvies and I'm going to name them Lumos and Nox as soon as I figure out which is which. :D For now they are in a temporary tank (30 x 20 cm) until they are big enough to not get impacted from the sand in my 100cm.

Some pics.

No worries I cleaned up after them after they were done eating ;) They just had a few bites, they might still be stressed from the car ride and such, so I'm going to give them some more tomorrow morning. Can't wait to see them develop and grow!

I love that photo frame above your tank. Did you draw that?

Love the setup in your larger tank. What size is it in liters or gallons if possible? Did you make the background or did you buy it? Either way looks awesome.

The big tank can hold 180L. The background is one I bought online, it's from HS Aqua. I'm super happy with it since you can hardly see the seam! Thank you for the compliment :) I'm very happy with my setup as well.

The babies have grown so much, when looking back at these pics I realize they were super tiny haha. They're both about 7cm now.

I had axies many years ago, but now I live in California where they are illegal (conservation concerns regarding competing with local fauna if released). Thanks for sharing.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
