Any live plants I can put in my axolotl 40B tank? I know not much can thrive. I had some moss balls, but they all fell apart. I have a bare bottom tank. Just wondering if anyone has had luck with live plants in their tank.

Absolutely! I'll link the source I use when deciding on plants https://www.caudata.org/axolotl-sanctuary/Aquascape.shtml
I've had success with java fern and moss, lilaeopsis and moss balls in the past. I've had hairgrass but it didn't take. Currently I've added wisteria and banana lillies which are surviving (the banana lily is growing really well). I've heard people also using hornwort.
Since you don't have substrate I'd recommend java fern and anubias as they can be tied to decorations. The wisteria I have is floating on the top because my axies keep ripping it out of the sand and it hasn't died yet haha. You can also buy little pots and plant some which need substrate into the pots!
Hope this helps :)
