Not here for help, just something interesting. My Eastern Tiger Salamander has a super long tail! Has anyone seen this with other eastern tigers? Is it just mine? Thought people would be interested. Also is he about adult size or should he be growing more? Is he breeding size, he is 3 years old? I’m not planning on breeding him. I feel that breeding him to get more leucistic shouldn’t be done for the sake of the animals. He is pretty much the only leucistic I’ve heard of. (The only other two Leucistic are syblings from the same population.) I feel that having a “cool” morph doesn’t out weigh the fact that their would be major inbreeding of the same gene-pool for this morph making the animal more prone to diseases and deformations. I’ll attach the forum that goes more in-depth on my views. You’ll be able to pick up the side I’m on.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
