Hi, first post here, I hope you can help.
I have a fire bellied newt who spends most of his time in the water. Over the last couple of weeks he has been harder to feed and more reclusive than normal.
Over the last 24 hours he has been on a leaf out of the water and hasn’t moved other than to take a bit of food.
I’ve done a number of small water changes over that last 2 weeks to make sure the water is good.
This is the first issue in 17 years and so I’m maybe over reacting but I wonder if anyone has any ideas.
Thanks in advance, Milo

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
