My Axolotl developed random small bumps in his tail, he has no tank mates, and doesn’t show any signs of stress or disease, are these normal?

nothing to worry about just the signs of an active axolotl,

Their skin is very fragile, so with swimming around and everything, it's pretty common that their tails especially get caught occasionally. If it becomes a regular issue, you can go through your tank and try to get rid of/sand down edges.

By the way, it looks like you have a great example of a melanoid! Can't tell from this pic if it's an albino or a leucistic, but if it's a leucistic yours and one of mine are matching! Lol

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
