Hey guys/girls,
I just wanted to introduce myself. I just recently acquired 3 leucistic Axolotls. I'm trying to read/follow/immerse myself with as much of y'all's knowledge as I can. This site is great. The field helping threads in particular are amazing. I enjoy the outdoors as often as possible. (Herping, relic hunting, rock collector,camping,hiking,canoeing..etc) I'm an avid reptile enthusiast and animal lover. These are not my first reptiles by any means. But they are some of my fav's. I hope to learn more here. Nice to meet y'all. HG:wink:

Maybe you should brush up on your definitions of reptile vs amphibian LOL. Welcome to the forum.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
