Hi all,
So I bought some 'Komodo' Terrapin/Amphibian pellets (that DO label that they are recommended for Axolotls) and he doesn't seem to be eating them. I believe he was fed on earth worms all of his early life, so he's not used to recognising that they are food, however when I hand feed them to him he seems to slurp them up but look a little confused. I just dug him up a worm as I was worried he was going to starve since I haven't fed him a worm in three days as I've tried to ween him on these.
I bought them as I am worried that we are going to have a harsh winter, and I wanted back-up for the ground freezing over. I have tired bloodworms and frozen daphnia but he just doesn't pick them up, it's like he doesn't see them as food.
I don't force feed him, and I really do not want to start up a worm farm as I have no room. Is there a way to make him 'learn' these are food or am I being cruel?
