Hi! I have a 5 month old axie and I fed him his first earthworms today. The garden doesn't use any pesticides or anything like that so they should be safe. I just harvested them from the backyard and dropped them into the tank. He ate them happily. I was just wondering if I was supposed to rinse them off beforehand or something? Or can I just feed it to my axolotl just like that. Please let me know! Thanks!

You need to give them a quick rinse to remove dirt to keep your tank clean, thats all.

Oh okay, thank you! I didn't do that the first time but I cleaned his tank right after anyway.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
