So I asked about this one a few months back, but he/she was too little then. They're a hefty 8 inches long now so I thought I'd see what you guys think now. Tried to get the best shots I could but I've got a light out on the hood that i'm not going to bother replacing since i'm getting an entirely different tank in a week or two anyway and it's not like the axie cares if there's a light or not lol

(dont worry about the food crumbs; I usually clean them up once he/she has vacated the area since they're spooked easily by the turkey baster I use to clean it up with LOL)

Sable's as pretty as a picture but also a little bit of a creeper; he(she? we just dont know for sure) likes to sit in there and just stare at me sometimes. The tank is right next to my bed and I cant tell you how many time's i've rolled over to see axolotl stares LOL

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
