My eggs r gunna hatch soon... Probably do they need cycled water or filter? Or can I just keep them in a lasagna dish with aged tap water ? Light bubbler? How soon do I feed them ?

Lasagna dish with aged tap should work well at first (assuming no chloramines in the water).

Do 100% (as close as you can) once or twice a day (more often if needed). Wipe the bottom of the lasagna dish daily also to remove the bacteria film that will build up.

You don't need bubblers. Keep the water fairly shallow.

Start a brine shrimp hatchery going as soon as they start hatching, if not before, so that when they start eating, you have food.

You will need to separate then into separate dishes to avoid cannibalism. (If it moves, it is food.) Small ziplock containers are cheap and work well. (Some people have luck with larger tanks and lots of food - I haven't tried that method.)

Don't try to raise more than you can care for. They are a lot of work during the period when they need individual dishes.

Good luck!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
