Hello, i am new to keeping salamanders and i could really use some help,i currently own a african dwarf frog, 2 fish and the 2 newest members to my family would be 2 axolotls
but i also have a problem, one of the axolotls wont eat, or i just dont see him eat, i just got him at a reptile expo on sunday and it was a lengthy trip back home, he swims around and explores but wont eat, both are in the 20 gallon, with the temperature at 68 degrees Fahrenheit, i feed them twice a day as they Are still quite small one is 2 inches (the one that wont eat) and the other is about 1and a half inches any help would be appreciated thanks!

Welcome to the forum! This is a subject that comes up a lot. I recommend you doing a search "salamander won't eat" or something like that. Good luck!!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
