Well I am not new but I haven't been on in a while. Last summer was rough, My room retains heat / cold worse than any others and I ended up having to rehome my beautiful grey axolotl.

We did welcome two other herps to the family though, Welcome Nemo the eastern Painted and Ollie the false map, Both 4 inch adult males from MATTS a turtle and tortoise rescue.

They are so beautiful! As a child, I had an eastern painted turtle who had an amazing personality. I could never forget that happy little creature of God. I wish I still had her. :(

Thank you :)

Ollie will be much prettier when I get him through a few sheds, he looks rough right now. Nemo is a mass murderer lol, He will eat a dozen fish in one night, nothing can live in his tank.

Turtles are very unique and rather fun.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
