Took a pretty rare picture but I thought I should show people the difference in eggs and young. These are axolotl eggs. Two batches, both layed on the same day. The batch on top I got from someone whose axolotls were laying every few weeks, the bottom ones are from my full grown wild mom that is only allowed to lay once yearly. The difference is quite dramatic as the ones from the multiple layer are about half the size, they are also growing slower than the other batch and a...re only about a quarter of the size now. It is a pretty rare occurrence to have these two kinds of batches at the same time so I thought I would share. I think (my opinion) that if allowed to lay too often it is stressful, and the female doesn't have as much energy to put into her young. I read a quote somewhere that said "breeding does not indicate healthy ideal conditions" So give your girls a rest! smile emoticon But It's just my opinion
