Hi just wondering if knows what is going on with this little one. It is almost 3mnths old. All of its sibblings seem to be ok. Just this little one. It's almost the same size as the others, but has barely any legs. The legs it does have are really large, but short .It has a little different shaped head and a large pouch like neck. Eating happily and behaving like the rest. Just wonder if it can survive like this and for how long. It will get it's own tank when it's big enough as we have decided that it is special and is going to live out the rest of it's life with our family if it lives another month or another 15 years :D

It doesn't live in this tiny dish, but was camera shy:p

Any information is greatly appreciated

Just an update sadly this little baby didn't make it :(. I am still curious as to what was genetically wrong with his little one.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
