Just wanted to jump in and say hello to everyone, live in pa. I have always done a lot of hiking and several years ago I by chance found a red salamander and been hooked ever since.I have several salamanders and axolotls. I really enjoy caring and watching there behavior. I also spend a lot of time hiking and looking for sals. I belong to pars and report my findings on there app. Catch and release the salamanders I find. Well thanks for reading.

Thank you it can be some skill in finding them ,to know where to look for certain kinds of salamanders. The real hard part is getting them to sit still for photos:bowl:

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
