I've looked into this a lot but I can't for the life of me come to a conclusion on these guys. Any help would be great. Thanks

Looks like all females but are they old enough to be sexed?

I agree female but I'm not sure they look big enough...pictures can be deceiving and I've heard lots of people say they were surprised with a boy at 12 months or so

I'M not sure of their age I would say from size 9 months or so? The golden one has a larger bump but also is larger in size so I'm not sure

The bump on a mature male is very prominent. It's pretty hard to miss. If you're not sure, it's either not yet mature or a female.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
