Hello my name is Jennifer, i have a Tiger salamander, i had two but he was not doing great so i joined this site hoping to get some advice. Sadly they took soo long to activate my account that he died before i could get any advice.? i dont have a vet around here so my options were limited. So far my opinion of this site is not great, hopefully that will change.

Pictures would be most helpful, of the animal and of the set up. That would be the best way to solicit advice, a picture is worth 1000 words and we can see what the problem might be.

I'm sorry for your loss. I have a tiger too. I would be most upset when he dies. :(

I hope the site will help you if you get another sal or newt.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
