Hello everyone.

My name is Adam and I have decided to sign up after browsing this forum on and off for the past 9 months.

Have been on here whenever I have had to seek some information for my Axolotl, Nibbles.

She is a natural coloured girl, about a foot long (Very big considering she is only about 18 months old!)

Will post pictures of her when I get a chance.

Thanks to my dad, I have been keeping aquatic pets my entire 23 years of life, so very good when it comes to healthy tank setups.
I always strive to create a balanced environment where possible, supplementing with the natural filtration of plants

Have gained a lot of knowledge here and hope I get a chance to give something back.

Hi Adam, welcome. I look forward to seeing pics of Nibbles and would love to hear more about your planted tank(s)!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
