My plain wildtype and my gfp wildtype het for copper had eggggs. I's my first time raising them so I'm probably gonna freeze all but ten. They were born on the 4th. Some are twitching and omg... I'm so excited!

Any idea if some of them will be GFP? I don't know if it's dominant or what.

Usually if you cross a GFP and non GFP, you will get about 50% GFP babies.

Oh cool! So far they're all brown, which I gather is what happens when the mom is dark colored lol, but given what I know of the parents' and grandparents' genetics there aren't any morphs that are impossible.

The parents have never had fertile eggs before so it's gonna be an adventure!

Going to freeze them? It should've already been done in the first few days before their nervous system develops.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
